It’s not showing numbers in the artists’ names!

This issue has been fixed. Please download the latest version of Y!Amp.
Q.
In Windows Vista, when I click “Save” after changing any settings under status settings, I get a “Run-Time error ’70′: Permission Denied message and the program closes. How do I fix this?
A.
Right-click on Y!Amp.exe, and select “Run as Administrator”. Now you should be able to save your settings. If you don’t want to have to select that everytime you want to save a setting, you can right-click on Y!Amp.exe, go to Properties, Compatability, and check off “Run this program as an administrator”.
Q.
Why is it not working right? My status changes to other things, like old statuses and songs I’m not listening to right now!
A.
You must have “Remember my ID & Password” checked before you log in, or else Y!Amp can’t see what ID your on so it can change your status. If that still doesn’t fix the program, upgrade to the newest messenger
Q.
Why can’t I put a URL and the headphones icon together?
A.
When you put the headphones icon next to your name, Yahoo! Messenger thinks you’re actually listening to Shoutcast radio, and attempts to make it a link to the song you’re listening to. Therefore, any link you put will be rendered obsolete.
Q.
I can’t see the icon next to my status, I just see weird symbols and numbers.
A.
You won’t see the icon on your status menu, but try adding yourself to your own list to see what your status is actually coming out as to others.
Q.
How do I add a custom message before & after the song title and artist?
A.
Click the button on Y!Amp with the menu icon, then go to options and type it there.
Be sure to click save instead of clicking the X.
Q.
How do I uninstall Y!Amp?
A.
Make sure Y!Amp isn’t running first, then simply go to the location you extracted Y!Amp to when you first downloaded the program. It is usually something like c:\my documents\downloads\yampm6. Delete that folder and Y!Amp is uninstalled. You may also delete the .zip of it as well if you don’t want it on your system at all.
Q.
It says you can now drag the interface, but I don’t understand how?
A.
All you have to do is click around the song title/artist and drag it down or right. You will notice the program kind of latches onto the side of your screen that it’s closest to :).

love the new layout and skin but some reason when u have winamp playin ur status thats shown to ur friends doesnt update when the song changes only thing that does update is the status beside the minimize/close out button. im usin XP

i get the same problem as reyrey. when the song changes, your status does not change from your friends’ view… but it changes in the status message above the messenger…

make sure your Username and Password are set to save befor you logg in for this issue to be resolved. i had that problem to and it was easly fixed due to that. if thats not the case then make sure you have the most recent version of yahoo messenger http://www.yahoo.com , and try clicking the bubble on yamp where the song info is displayed, this will refresh your status, dont do it to many times tho due to the fact that it will freeze your status on yahoo. If this info doesnt help please consult the help page on this topic post.

i have installed the Y!AMP, Winamp, And Yahoo Messenger 9.0. But still doesnt change my status to song i’ve been listening.
How can i fix that?

@blaze: Try re-downloading Y!Amp – I fixed that problem in a small update.

A tiny lil problem with the new version… it doesn’t display numbers in the status, for example if I listen to Blink182 – The anthem the status will only desplay blink
same goes with other names such as SR-71 it displays SR- – “song name”
what can I do?

First of all, I want to thank you for the Y!Amp program. The program works well with my Yahoo 9 messenger. My problem though is I guess you can say is the file. Everytime I shut my computer off, it’s like the file loses its data.It’s like the Y!amp file is there, but the icon is blank and won’t run.So I have to download the program over and over. I’m running XP Service Pack 3. So I don’t want to jump the gun and knock your program, I just want to know what’s going on? *Sidenote, its the only program on my computer that does that.

@Tra224: I honestly haven’t heard of this yet, so it may be just you.
To me, it sounds like when you’re downloading it, it’s going to a temporary folder, and then when you restart, the temporary file is cleared, so the shortcut icon is still there, but the program itself isn’t.
Are you running it from inside the .ZIP file, or are you extracting it first, then running it?

I’m having problems with artiste names with number in it. Downloaded Y!Amp today but it shows 2Pac as Pac.
I’m using Messenger 9 on XP.

Hi. Great software. But I have some queries and prob to ask. Firstly, it doesnt show the artist name but only show the song name. Secondly, how to remove the word “winamp” after the song name?. And lastly, I hope to customize the order of the artist name and song, for example (s) for song and (a) for artist like (s) – (a), or (a) – (s). I hope you can improve this program. thanx. Keep it up and gud luck :)

the program has a bug … the last “)” from any track is not shown at the status … Let’s say the track name is “Kazi Ploae si Specii – Indepartare (prod Silent Strike)” and it’s shown at the status as “Kazi Ploae si Specii – Indepartare (prod Silent Strike” …

Working with the newest version of Yamp on Yahoo V10 Windows 7. I download the program but it doesnt show up in the plugins section of winamp. It changes my status to my stations url but does not change with songs

the program works fine but i just have one problem, it will ask me all the time if i want to change my status, i didnt uncheck the box with dont display this mesage again, i have to let it that way, so way is that mesage apearing again and again, is it because i didnt uncheck that box, because i dont want to uncheck it, in older version of yamp when i had messenger 8 i could left that box unchecked and the mesage with the song wont appear again, its very annoying, it appears from 3 in 3 seconds, please do something so it could work without unchecking that box. Thx
